Move over, Proust! Rafael Nadal killed it on Facebook today:
“Have you tried these kind of biscuits (salty) called Quely? I was today at the factory since I signed with them an agreement. I eat them since I was a little kid. I know all this sounds very commercial but I really mean it.”
Rafa’s memories of salty biscuits past were prompted by his visit to the Quely bakery in Inca, a town on his home island of Majorca on Monday. If you don’t know Quely – “a family run company founded in 1853 that manufactures biscuits, bakery and chocolate coated products” – you soon will. As of the new year, Rafael Nadal will be Quely’s international ambassador.
Here’s Rafa, embarking on his mission to spread the joy of salty biscuits to the darkest corners of the globe:

Here are the details of the Nadal/Quely partnership per Rafa’s website:
Rafael Nadal, currently number 2 in the ATP ranking, and, without doubt, the best Spanish tennis player of all time, is to become the face of Quely throughout the world, thanks to an agreement that the tennis player and Quely will be presenting in public at our bakery in Inca this coming Monday, December 21st.
For Quely, a family run company founded in 1853 that manufactures biscuits, bakery and chocolate coated products, it is a source of pride and satisfaction to be able to count with the assistance of Rafa Nadal for these ambitious plans, a new stage in which we hope to publicise our products with the aid of the best person to recommend them, a champion with great human and sporting qualities perseverance, tenacity, respect, hard work, and humility, someone who has consumed our products ever since he was a little kid.
Both Rafa Nadal and the team at Quely would like you to be able to share with you what will definitely be a very special moment in the history of Quely.
Count me in on your cookie quest, Rafa! It doesn’t hurt that the word “Quely” sounds like something I want to wrap my arms around and nuzzle. Kind of like. . .oh, never mind.
Miri at NadalNews posted these videos. Rafa’s great, but I’m just a sucker for factory footage.
I’m having flashbacks to Mr. Rogers and the crayon factory!
Here’s some sweet to Rafa’s salty.

I think he likes representing local companies from Mallorca and of course he has personal experience with the product – COOOOKIES!
haha wtf??
God, he’s such a cutie! And he’s sexy even in those clothes!
I so miss him and I sooo love him! Have a great great 2010, Rafito!
Oh I’m going to start looking for this stuff! Roger’s choco, Rafa’s cookies, pouring them down with Marat’s Vodka (thought he’s endorsed it since 2000 — check out Letterman’s show).
LOL – after enough vodka, who cares if the cookies are salty and not sweet?
That is one small cookie. I would have to eat them by the handful!
COUNT ME IN!
Rafa Nadal = tennis’s cookie monster.
My favwite tennis player and favorite Sesame Street character combined! Too much!
Rafa and coooookies. Me loves! ^_^
P.S. HOW can a man looks so cuddly in a hoodie? And HOW can a man look so sexy in a white coat and cap? McCutie-pie! >_< SQUEE!
I also love his little bandaged fingies. That's SO Rafa.
I, too, love that it's a product from his native island of Mallorca. That just makes the deal all the more sweet…erm, salty, for me! I heard that there are also chocolte covered ones. If not, I'll just happily gobble them as is and also coat them with all kinds of yummies. Does anyone know if Rafa's adorable-sweetness is going to be an official flavor of Quely?
COOOOOOKIES! <3 <3 <3
LOL Jess! You always crack me up!
Just when I thought I couldn't love this guy more…he kicks it into adorkableness overdrive.
Me want Rafa!
No, wait. I mean “ME WANT COOOOOOOOKIES!”
rafa is adorable. he’s like a kid in a candy store, except it’s a bakery. they should make some limited edition rog and rafa treat, combine the lindt with the quely and you’re good to go!
i too enjoy factory footage. it’s discovery and science channel’s fault!
Go Rafa! =p
