After pulling out of tournaments in Tokyo and Shanghai and spending weeks out of the public eye, Roger Federer resurfaced on Facebook today to announce he’s ready to defend his title next week* in Basel:
Here’s the rest of Roger Federer’s 2009 schedule: next week’s Davidoff Swiss Indoors (where he’s going for his 4th straight title), the BNP Paribas Masters 1000 a.k.a. Bercy (starting November 9), and, of course, the ATP World Tour Finals (a.k.a the WTF!) in London starting November 22. Roger’s also signed on to play in the Capitala World Championship exhibition tournament in Doha from December 31 – January 2.
Great news for those of us facing Federer withdrawal! Maybe the babies will even make a home-town appearance, too.
*I was jumping the gun with “next week” – the Basel Indoors is the first week of November.

Thank goodness for that facebook message! It feels like it’s been FOREVER. I’m glad he got some time off and spent it with his lovely daughters and wife. Hopefully he will be fit and fresh to defend Basel.
I’ll be so glad when Roger returns his elegant dancing feet back to the court. Without him, all we have is hit the ball and then hit the ball harder. It’s so nice to have some style and grace with my tennis. Go Roger!

Finally some news of our Roger. I hope he does great, he needs all the points he can get, and what better way than winning his hometown tournament.
All I can say is THANK GOD!!! I read an article yesterday that said Roger might take the rest of the year off. I have tickets for London and Ill be so bummed if he isn’t there! Looking forward to seeing him back in action (hope to see the girls soon too!)

I was so happy to see Roger’s Facebook post yesterday! And that new profile pic is amazing – it’s him at the US Open semi against Djokovic about to his that shot between his legs. Can’t wait to see him back in action!
I’ll take credit for this wonderful news. A couple of nights ago I dreamed I was staying with the Feds, teaching Roger how to smock baby dresses. Mirka kept hitting him over Knee with a racket.

Boooriiing! Nuf of RF. He killed my interest in tennis after I watched it for years. Along came competition to revive my interest. Please…don’t kill it for me again. Other NICER players deserve better attention than an arrogant pompus vain pot who doesn’t know how to lose.

…and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, at all…but could I make a tiny suggestion/request? Any chance you could swap out the photo of MDF (My Darling Fed) serving with the one of him running to the left? Fed is known for his brilliant serve and the masthead title is covering it up!!

i would get hell for having a fed desktop background (i love the one of him running for some reason, it might be the sculpted shoulders, the serve is good too), so i will just have to visit here and enjoy the fed banner and kick ass posts!
