Hilarious! Seems like that pathetic man can’t even hold it together to be a sportswriter. Sleeping on the job.

It annoys me that his column got the attention it didn’t deserve, but it was impossible to not say anything about it.

But I have to say that this sportswriter was not dissing Serena for being self centered and arrogant. He was dissing her fitness and heart. Also, Serena wasn’t complaining – someone asked her about it.

As far as self-centered and arrogant go, I don’t think Justine was exactly a paragon of sportswomanship. I was about as livid as you sound in this comment when I watched her retire in the Australian Open final against Mauresmo. Talk about self centered. But I did love her game and definitely miss the rivalry between her and Serena.

First time I’ve ever agreed with something Fox said- Serena is beyond doubt the rudest, most self centered, arrogant bitch to ever mishit a tennis ball. She’s only ever given a compliment to her sister, to hear her tell it, Venus is the only player who ever beat her- why I soooooo desperately miss Justine- she kept Serena in the quarters!

I saw the full article too, unfortunately. Serena and Fed both getting a fair bit of hate right after they won Wimbledon. Coincidence? Success breeds jealousy. Any writer who suggests Serena Williams needs “a smidgeon more guts” clearly can’t be taken seriously.

I agree totally that the comments made in that column are outrageous and sexist. But, it saddens me that Serena could look in her mirror and see anything other than a beautiful, strong, and vital woman. If she’s not as “big” as Michael Jackson (!) or Tiger Woods, I doubt it has anything to do with her figure. I hope she doesn’t take this garbage seriously.

That is truly sick. Sexism is alive and well at Fox Sports. The irony is that Serena has a beautiful body and I’m sure a lot of men would prefer it to some of the less-built girls on the tour.

And Rosa Parks probably wouldn’t beat this so-called journalist’s fitness test either. Not to mention that comparing a warrior for human rights to an athelete is ridiculous.
