The grass court season is even shorter than the laughably brief tennis “off season.” So watch it while you can!

Here in the States, the later rounds of the ATP’s historic grass court tournament at The Queen’s Club, London, a.k.a. the AEGON Championships (formerly the Stella Artois Championships) will be televised. It’s a “250″ level event.

Rafael Nadal is out of the tournament, but heavyweights like Andy Murray, 4 time champ Andy Roddick and Wimbeldon semifinalist Marat Safin are in the mix.

  1. Josefien says:

“Anyone else miss the red fencing?”

    Yep, definitely.
The blue looks kind of wrong, but maybe it’s just me..

When I first saw the red, I though “whoa, that’s too much!” But I got used to it and really liked it. This new color just reminds me of Nole’s ugly tennis shoes. Why is Smurf blue so popular?

Of course I understand that the sponsor’s wishes come first. Especially in this day and age!

    • Yes Josefien..i do miss the red as well..blue feels soo…corporate, compared to the red.
Oh well. We might say the same thing after someone else picks up the Queens Club after Aegon.

    • Do you know, I’ve never actually seen this tournament since it doesn’t get telecast here… ever…

So I actually thought the blue looked kind of refreshing as compared to Wimbledon where they use dark green along with the green courts… and then Star Sports televises it and uses dark green graphics- too dull, I always thought…

On seeing this picture I actually though the blue brightened it up nicely, but then that may just have been because I’ve never seen the red fencing, etc…

  2. Doesn’t the grass look immaculate?
