Thank you to Austin’s intrepid reporters for doing their jobs and getting the scoop on this weekend’s Andy Roddick/Brooklyn Decker wedding!
Interesting factoids:
1. Vera Wang and Elton John are good friends of Andy Roddick. (And Roger gets the metrosexual rep!?)
2. Andy’s keeping his “look” secret until the wedding day – Brooklyn should be very, very worried!
3. The reception is at a place called Stubb’s, which looks AWESOME. (click here)
4. Andy’s being a meanie and saying no photos, even for charity – BOOO!
Here’s the scoop from The Statesman (click here for more):
Brooklyn will wear a Vera Wang dress. Vera Wang offered to make the dress. She is a good friend of Andy’s. They know each other because Vera and Andy have stayed in neighboring properties in Hawaii for some time. Andy usually stops in Hawaii every year on his way to play in the Australian Open.
Andy had offers from several designers including Austin-born Tom Ford for his wedding outfit. However, he is keeping the look a secret until the wedding day.
There will be 30 people, mostly family and a few friends, at the wedding.
The reception will be at Stubb’s from 6 or 7 p.m. until 2 a.m.
They have selected an unnamed band or DJ to provide music.
Andy doesn’t want to provide photos to the media. He did get offers from (probably) People and US Weekly and those types of mags. However, he said he wants to keep the event private even though the money paid for a photo could go to his charity. Andy just wants to have a special moment.
Andy and Brooklyn have really never been to a wedding or reception so they planned something very simple.
Elton John will play at the wedding, which will likely be outside.
There isn’t a backup plan if there’s bad weather on Saturday.
This wedding sounds like so much fun! I have to say I think I’d rather get an invite to this one than to Roger’s. (hint, hint!)

Stubbs is most awesome. It’s a well known and loved Austin hang-out.
AH! When I saw Bar-be-Que and live music on the website, I figured it had to be AWESOME.
Kudos to Andy and Brooklyn for keeping it real and knowing how to have fun!
Wow! I go to Stubbs all the time for concerts. That should be fun. Way better than that lame country club he goes to.
I wonder if the wedding ceremony is at the country club? aAnd then the reception is at Stubbs?

The newspaper today said the ceremony will be outside at his house. Too bad there are storms today and more expected Saturday.
